Jan. 2019: We welcome Zhida Wang and Karina Villarreal to join our group. Zhida will work with us as a visiting student. Karina is an undergraduate student from NIU.
Dec. 2018: We are extremely excited to learn that our REU student Robert Dick presented for Trine’s second STEM Symposium and earned the Best REU/Graduate Project award (link). Congratulations!
Sep. 2018: We welcome Jacob Kaelin, Daniel Coliz and Colten Nickel join our group as undergraduate researchers.
Aug. 2018: We welcome Dr. Ke Lu and Siyuan Gao to join our group. Ke just finished his graduate study with Prof. Houyi Ma and will do his postdoctoral research with us. We note that Dr. Cheng was also Prof. Ma’s student and learned electrochemistry from him, and it is great to have Prof. Ma’s former students unit at Northern! Siyuan is our first graduate student and he just earned his Masters’ Degree from Pukyong National University.
Jun. 2018: We welcome Robert Dick and Zain Sattar to join our group. Robert is an undergraduate student from Trine University and will spend the summer with us through the NSF-REU program. Zain is a high school student from Barlett High School.
Jan. 2018: The Cheng lab at Northern Illinois University officially started. We work with materials chemistry and electrochemistry, and have multiple openings for postdocs and students, please contact Dr. Cheng if you are interested.
